How Easy it is to Fall Asleep Fast !!

Why do some people fall asleep fast and some struggle for hours?

There could possibly be many culprits like stress, anxiety, overactive mind, depression etc. to keep you awake and struggling to get proper 8 hours sleep.

You can train your mind to fall asleep faster by using some technique:
  1. Try sleeping on your side.
  2. Stick to a sleep schedule where you wake up and go to bed the same time every day.
  3. Avoid drinking too many fluids around bedtime so you don't have to get up to go to bathroom
  4. Avoid heavy meals within 2 hours of sleep.
  5. Turn off your Digital Devices
  6. Keep you room Dark and Cool
  7. Use Muscle Relaxation and Meditation Techniques to sleep faster


Force yourself to Stay Awake - This is referred as Paradoxical Intention - When you “try” to fall asleep, it often has the opposite effect. So turn the tables and try to stay awake, and you’ll find yourself nodding off.

Use the “4-7-8” sleep method. - The method creates a natural tranquilizer for your nervous system by increasing the amount of oxygen in your blood stream, slowing your heart rate, and releasing more carbon dioxide from the lungs.

Here’s the method as described : 
  • Place the tip of your tongue against the ridge of tissue just behind your upper front teeth, and keep it there through the entire exercise.
  • Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound.
  • Close your mouth and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of four.
  • Hold your breath for a count of seven.
  • Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound to a count of eight.
  • Repeat the cycle three more times for a total of four breaths.
